A few years ago, I wrote an article entitled April Fools and Wine where I introduced people to weird things like wine coffee and Cabernet Air Jordans. Today, the focus will be on April Fools’ Day wine pranks.

Some Fun April Fools’ Day Wine Pranks
Inside the Cask tells us about an amazing prank where a winery put red and white in the same bottle of wine. Juntos, which is at the bottom of the label, means together.

Wine Spectator tells us that “Michelle Armour of Jam PR writes a good press release, both real and fake. In 2013, her April Fool’s e-mail described a vineyard program that involved feeding monkeys peyote before they scatter grape seeds in a vineyard.”
Food and Wine go back to 1950 for The Great Norwegian Wine Sale: “With wine in short supply after WWII, Norway’s biggest newspaper printed a story claiming that a huge delivery had shown up at the government-run wine stores. The only problem was that it didn’t come in bottles. Thirsty oenophiles would have to bring their own containers, but they would be able to buy wine for 75 percent less than normal. Massive lines formed outside the stores with people carrying huge, empty buckets.”
Etsy sells a fake wine spill, which I think is pretty cool.

I would have loved to have found some more. But this was all I could come up with. If you have any good April Fools’ Day wine pranks, please share them here. Thanks.
Happy April Fools!
