Betty's Wine Musings

About Me

Thank you so much for visiting Betty’s Wine Musings. My name is Betty Kaufman, and I’d love to tell you a little bit about me. I’m a wine lover and a consummate wine student.

My love of wine started when I was a student at Berkeley. Back then, wineries didn’t check IDs the way they do now. So it was a lot of fun to head up to the wine country and be treated as an adult. That probably was my favorite part of wine tasting early on. Over time, I grew to really appreciate wine and the wine country lifestyle – the laughter, the clinking of glasses, the good food, the friends, the deliberate pace.

My wine career started in 2006, after nearly 20 years in high-tech marketing, when I became an independent wine consultant with WineShop At Home. Quite a wonderful career change for me! It was such a pleasure to get to work with a product I was truly passionate about.

One of my favorite things about wine is that you always get to be a student. Whether you know a lot or a little about wine, there’s always more to learn.

I look forward to exploring the world of wine with you. I welcome your comments and contributions.
