New Year! New Wine Sales Career!

Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a great start for you. I hope you’ve taken the time to make some new year’s resolutions that will prompt you to have your best year yet. If one of your resolutions is to find something you’re passionate about, I would love for you to consider a new wine sales career!

I’ve been a wine consultant with WineShop At Home now for 10 years, and it is by far the most fun and rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I have a day job too, but my wine business is my passion; and being affiliated with WineShop At Home, the premier winery in the direct sales arena, is fantastic.

Let me tell you a little about being a wine consultant, so you can decide if this might be a good opportunity for you.

New wine sales career? What is involved?

You sell wine by leading fun wine tastings in people’s homes and offices

During a wine tasting, you introduce great WineShop At Home wines and do a little Wine 101. It’s a wonderful way for people to try great wines before they buy – all in the comfort of their home.

You earn money

You earn commission on all your wine sales. While wine tastings are the core of WineShop at Home’s business, you make the same commission whether a customer’s order is taken during a tasting or outside of a tasting. If you build a team of wine consultants, you earn commission on their wine sales as well. You can earn as much as 44% commission on your sales and as much as 8% commission on your team’s sales.

You enjoy the wine country lifestyle

As a wine consultant, you sometimes pinch yourself when you realize that you get paid to help people drink wine. When you show your business card at wineries, you are treated to industry-courtesy specials. Also, you get to take advantage of an annual incentive trip offered by WineShop At Home. I’ve been on eight WineShop At Home trips, including trips to Italy, Spain and Jamaica!

You don’t need to be a wine expert

If you’re thinking, “Well, I like wine, but I’m not an expert,” don’t worry. You will get wonderful on-the-job training from the company, from me and from other wine consultants. More importantly, you will learn on the job. The more wine tastings you lead, the higher your wine sales, and the more fun. Very importantly, we position ourselves as wine enthusiasts, not wine experts.
