For people who enjoy wine and like selling, please allow me to introduce you to what I think is an incredible opportunity to sell wine: joining my team as a wine consultant.
What do you do as a wine consultant?
You lead wine tastings in people’s homes. You give your tasting guests the chance to try fantastic wines before they buy them – in a fun, unintimidating environment. You get to “edutain” your guests as you introduce them to the wines made by WineShop At Home. WineShop At Home is a wonderful Napa winery that sells its wines through in-home wine tastings led by people like you and me.
Is it hard to sell wine at in-home wine tastings?
Not at all. The wine pretty much sells itself. Why?
- Value-priced wines. Our wines are value priced, since WineShop At Home doesn’t need the huge markups that most wineries need. So our $25 wines easily compete with $30 to $40 wines.
- No intimidation. The wine industry has done a disservice to itself by telling people they’re not worthy of enjoying wine unless they know a lot about it. So a lot of people are intimidated by wine. When you help them get over their intimidation, they breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy it that much more.
- Incredibly fun experience. Wine tastings are incredibly fun. While you’re doing a little Wine 101, laughter is the common language. It’s hard not to want to buy your favorite bottles when you’re having so much fun.
