I just got back from WineShop At Home’s national convention, and I had a ball. Great people, great wine, great info, great fun. I would love for you to join me at our convention next year by joining my team of wine consultants. In this article, I’m excited to five great reasons to become a wine consultant.
If you’d like to skip ahead to explore joining my team as a wine consultant, please visit my Wine Business page.
It’s Fun to Lead In-home Wine Tastings
Helping people enjoy wine is a whole lot of fun. During a wine tasting, you introduce great wines and do a little Wine 101, while giving people the opportunity to order the wines they like. It’s a whole new way for people to try great wines before they buy – all in the comfort of their home.
You Have Many Opportunities to Earn Money
You earn commission on everything you sell: individual bottles, cases of wine, wine club memberships, personalized wines and more. While wine tastings are the core of WineShop at Home’s business, you make the same commission whether a customer’s order is taken during a tasting or outside of a tasting. If you build a team of wine consultants, you earn commission on their sales as well. You can earn as much as 44% commission on what you sell and as much as 8% commission on what your team sells.
You Get to Enjoy the Wine Country Lifestyle
As a wine consultant, you sometimes pinch yourself when you realize that you get paid to help people drink wine. When you show your business card at wineries, you are treated to industry-courtesy specials. Also, you get to take advantage of an annual incentive trip offered by WineShop At Home. Last year went to Italy! Next year we’re going to Jamaica!
No Expertise Required
If you’re thinking right now, “Well, I like wine, but I’m not an expert,” don’t worry. You will get wonderful on the job training, both from the company and from me. More importantly, you will learn on the job. The more wine tastings you lead, the better you will get, and the more fun you will have.
No Inventory
Many direct sales companies require you to carry inventory. In the wine industry, this is not allowed. Wine consultants aren’t licensed to sell alcohol. Only WineShop At Home is licensed. We facilitate orders between our customers and the company.
